Blue Flags for Paphos
Despite the fact that environmental pollution is a serious international problem, awarding the Blue Flag to the six beaches of Paphos at once has become a huge (and we must say, well-deserved) honor for local authorities and undoubted pride for all residents of the region. Getting the coveted “Blue Flag” requires compliance with the most stringent water quality standards, high safety performance and excellent environmental conditions. For beaches located in countries – members of the European Union, it is necessary and unquestioning compliance with the directives adopted in the region. This season, just six beaches of the municipality of Paphos, were honored to carry the Blue Flag – this: “Pakhyammos” (I and II), Vrisudia (I and II), as well as the beach “Municipal Baths” (in the very center of the embankment), and beach located near the lighthouse (Paralia tou Faro)
