The archaeological antiquities of Cyprus in Stockholm
A permanent exhibition of Cypriot archeological antiquities opened at the Stockholm Museum of Mediterranean History. The collection includes 13,000 items that were found in 20 different excavations in Cyprus.
As the Ambassador of Cyprus in Sweden, Yorgos Schakallis, said, the exhibits were transferred to Sweden after the completion of the Swedish archaeological expedition that worked in Cyprus from 1927 to 1931. Opening the exhibition, the ambassador in particular noted that the Cypriot Government is making considerable efforts to protect the cultural and archaeological heritage of the island.
